Course content
Seminar Topics: 1st consultation Collection of biological material (urine, stool, sputum, swabs and swabs from the cavities, body surface, wounds, mucous membranes). Collection of biological material (blood - venous, capillary, arterial blood donation; open and closed system donation). Exercise Topics: 2nd consultation Introduction and care of peripheral venous cannula, central venous catheter care and ports. Infusion, parenteral nutrition. 3. Consultation Transfusion. 4. Consultation Small surgical procedures, dressing table, sterile table. Self-study: Care for wounds and stoma, dressing techniques. Puncture, endoscopy.

Learning outcomes
The subject is conceived as theoretical and practical. The content of the course forms the core of the professional skills of nurses and belongs to the complex of basic vocational subjects. Students will have theoretical knowledge to perform dependent and independent nurse activities, based on which they will be able to implement performance in accordance with applicable legislation for nurses.
Expertise: The student has theoretical knowledge to perform practical nursing procedures in accordance with the competences of the general nurse according to valid legislation. The student is able to describe nursing procedures in individual areas, their importance, preparation and care of the patient before, during performance / activity / procedure and after performance / activity / procedure. The student is able to describe the negative impacts of improperly performed nursing procedures on human health. Professional skills: Student practically demonstrates individual nursing procedures. The student demonstrates manual dexterity in performing practical procedures and techniques in the field of dependent, independent and synergistic nurse activities, taking into account the patient's individual needs and safety.

Credit: Min. 80% active participation in consultations. Verification of practical professional skills by elaboration and presentation of recommended procedure of nursing care of patient / client. Exam: Written test of given topics - verification of professional knowledge including the content of the course Nursing Process I., Nursing Process II.
