Course content
Lecture topics: 1. Community as a client, community care, community nursing. Development of community services. 2. Nursing process in community, classification system for community care OMAHA. 3. The role and competence of nurses in community care. Nursing activities to prevent health damage. Specific working conditions of nurses in community care. 4. Home care, definition, history, role, performances, technical, personnel and operational equipment of DP agencies, competencies and management of medical documentation. 5. Specifics of community care for children, woman, family. 6. Specifics of community care for clients with disabilities. Specifics of community care in palliative care Seminar topics: 1. The concept of health in community nursing. The role of primary, secondary and tertiary prevention in community care. Use of nursing models in community care 2. Nursing process in community care - provision of community care in the form of nursing process, phase, nursing documentation. 3. Concept of home care. Nursing process in patients in home care with the aim of maintaining the self-sufficiency and quality of life of patients in the home environment, care for the elderly. Creation of an educational program for school children focused on assessing needs, problems, factors affecting the health of school children. 4. Nursing care for mentally ill within the community. Community nursing care for chronically ill and dying.

Learning outcomes
The subject is designed as theoretical and defines the basic aspects of community primary health care and home nursing in terms of general nurse. It acquaints with realization of nursing process in community care and with possibilities of cooperation with social sphere. The acquired knowledge will be applied in professional practice focused on primary health care and home care. Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the community care course is to obtain information about the use of nurses in providing nursing care in the community with a focus on home care.
Expertise: The student is acquainted with the issue of providing nursing care to healthy and sick clients in their own social environment, providing care to clients and families, groups of a certain community. He / she will know methods and procedures of health protection preservation and support, maintaining, maintaining and increasing the client's self-sufficiency in daily activities, maintaining the quality of life and helping clients in the terminal stage of life. Professional skills: Students will understand the meaning of the term "community", its main social function in meeting the needs of individuals, people and its hierarchy. They will recognize the need for a healthy social and natural environment in the community for the lives of individuals and their families. They will learn to treat clients in their own social environment. The student knows the models of community care and is able to assess the main problems of the selected community.
