Course content
Lecture Topics: The First Consultation: Self-awareness, self-reflection, self-image, self-esteem. Transactional Analysys Comunication process, communicational barriers, mistakes in social perception Psychological impact of communication Non-verbal communication The Second Consultation: Verbal communication Basics of communicational strategy Interview, types of questions. Psychotherapeutic, directive, non-directive interview. The Third Consultation: Communication in stressful situations Psychohygiene for nurses Seminar Topics: The First Consultation: Transactional analysis in Training Problematic communication The Second Consultation: Devaluation of values. Communication with patients with special needs (aggressive, passive, seductive, educated ?) Communication with the impaired The Third Consultation: Conflicts, ways of solving a conflict Principles of constructive criticism Stress, symptoms, prevention, burn - out Relaxing techniques Self-Study: Professional communication, productive and non-productive behaviour of the nurse, evalvation and the devaluation of the patient. Non-verbal communication, proxemics, posturics, haptics, facial expressions, visuals, kinesics, dynamics, gesture, chronemics, image, speech of acts, properties.

Learning outcomes
The subject "Communication" is based on the knowledge of psychology and pedagogy and it develops the issues related to relationship problems between two or more individuals with the regard to social-personal development. The emphasis is placed not only on verbal but also on nonverbal communication. Some issues of communication are based on the theories and then they are practically trained in application forms. The particular emphasis is put on the peculiarities of communication between medical staff and patients. The course deals with addressing the psychosocial conflicts in various stages of development and it also provides the knowledge and experience with the interaction in nursing care. It also solves the problems of interpersonal conflicts and dealing with differences in communication with disabled people and those who are not so adaptable.
Subject Knowledge: Student has theoretical knowledge about communication on various levels of social relations; he understands non-verbal and verbal expressions of the patient. He understands the nature of the patient's response to a difficult situation; he knows the essence of the conflict and the assertive productive ways of solving the conflict. Professional Skills: Students acquire practical knowledge about communication on various levels of social relations, they mastere the skills of professional conduct and behaviour, they are able to respond on a professional level. They can practically manage communication with patients having special needs.
