Course content
Seminar topics (2 hours / week): 1. repetition of the theory from the 1st year; 2. seminar work - presentation in the form of discussion; 3. seminar work - presentation in the form of discussion; 4. seminar work - presentation in the form of discussion. Topics of seminar papers: 1. Communication with a patient with problem behavior; 2. Communication with a sick child; 3. Communication with the chronically ill; 4. Communication with an elderly patient; 5. Communication with a patient with mental disorders; 6. Communication with a patient with a change in intellect; 7. Communication with a patient with a serious illness; 8. Communication with a patient with various types of disabilities - hearing, sight, speech, musculoskeletal system; 9. Communication with a socially problematic client - drugs, alcohol, medicines; 10. Communication with pregnant women, women after childbirth during the puerperium; 11. Communication in stressful situations. Self-study: Specifics of medical communication.

Learning outcomes
The subject of communication builds on knowledge from psychology and develops thematic areas related to the relationship problems of two or more individuals with regard to social and personal development. Emphasis is placed on verbal and nonverbal communication. Students will get acquainted with the principles of proper communication, with the preparation of spoken speech and with the preparation of a professional text. The aim of the course is to develop a comprehensive speech of the speaker.
Expertise: The student demonstrates knowledge of the principles of theoretical communication and the basics of communication in health care. Professional skills: The student is able to prepare spoken and written speech and can define the basic problems in communicating with different groups of patients General competences: The student is able to define his ideas using the acquired communication skills in the theoretical and practical level.
