Course content
General scope of practice: o Establishing a plan of nursing care for a patient with a certain medical diagnosis o Collection of biological material, incl. invasive sampling o Oral medication o Injections (intradermal, subcutaneous, intravenous, intramuscular) o Ensure peripheral venous access o Assistance in securing central venous entries o Assistance in the preparation and administration of infusions, transfusions o Assistance in patients with drainage, drainage systems, care for patients with wounds, bandages, preparation of sterile tables, assistance in special examinations in internal and surgical fields o Assistance with re-bandages o Assistance with gastric and duodenal tube insertion o Patient puncture assistance o Care for patients with stoma, care for chronic wounds, incl. pressure sores o Monitoring of physiological needs, measurement of oxygen saturation o Preparing the patient for surgery, patient care after surgery o Preparation of aids for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures o Monitoring in adult patients using standardized measurement techniques o Acceptance, control and storage of medicinal products

Learning outcomes
Annotation: Individual training is realized by providers of health services in inpatient health facilities, at clinical workplaces of internal and surgical fields according to the overview of individual clinical workplaces (internal fields - eg internal, pulmonary, gastroenterological, cardiology and pediatric wards; surgical fields - eg surgery, neurosurgery) , orthopedics, traumatology, thoracic, traumatic, pediatric surgery, urology). Students will learn the specifics and organization of work in these departments, work with medical documentation and the provision of nursing care through the nursing process. They deepen their ability to cooperate within nursing teams, assess the environment (material and personnel) that meets the individual's needs. They will improve their assessment of individual health status and needs of clients / patients in terms of nursing care, communication training, preparation of care plan, education, training of activation of children and adult patients, work with medical documentation. The aim is to involve the student in the work of the medical team, to strengthen the knowledge and skills acquired during the theoretical training, to extend practical knowledge and independence, incl. organization of work during the provision of nursing care.
Expertise: The student demonstrates knowledge of nursing procedures and the theory of nursing, which can be applied in practice through nursing plans and nursing interventions. Professional skills: The student is able to realize nursing care by the method of nursing process, is able to work with medical documentation and is a valid member of the medical team.
