Course content
Seminar Topics: 1st consultation: Introduction to e-learning: Functions and types of e-learning system, access to e-learning at faculty (Moodle) resp. at other faculties with similar focus (MEFANET). Advanced MS-Office: Copies of formats, use of Ctrl + H for replacements, PowerPoint (slide transitions, use of animations). Word: Dividing a document into sections and different types of page numbering in sections, headings and content generation, citation, and literature review. 2nd consultation: Excel: Automatically populate a sequence, use partition anchors, copy with a lock symbol, multicriterial data sorting, function = sum, selected text and logic functions, bar graph, circular, line, dot, and chart adjustments - scaling, axis description changes. IS in healthcare and hospitals (functions, demonstrations). Self-study: Study materials (documents, presentations, videos) are available in the Moodle environment and on the FZS website (Study / Study Materials section). Topics: Repetition of basic IT knowledge - Information and its units, HW and SW, Internet work principles. General principles and trends of E-health, EHR (EPR) - electronic health (patient) record, its standards (HL7). Principles and examples of using telemedicine.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to teach students user- and professional approach to informatics, computer technology and to get acquainted with possibilities of its use in health care. It provides a foundation for using different software files, word processing and data processing.
Expertise: Students will be acquainted with modern possibilities of using IS (information technologies in general) in the field of health and social care. They will master basic concepts related to e-health and telemedicine. Professional skills: Students are able to use advanced computer technology in commonly available computer applications.

The basic prerequisite is attendance (min. 70% participation in teaching). Course-unit credit is awarded on the basis of a practical examination (computer skills and knowledge).
