Individual professional practice is carried out with health service providers in the outpatient and inpatient segments, or other inpatient forms of health and social care. The internship takes place under the guidance of a professional practice mentor. The aim is to involve the student in the work of the healthcare team, consolidate the knowledge and skills acquired during the theoretical training, expand practical knowledge and independence, including the organisation of work during the provision of nursing care to children and adolescents. Students will also learn about the specifics and organization of work in these departments, cooperation within nursing teams, working with medical documentation and providing nursing care to children and adolescents through the nursing process. Students work according to an individual professional practice plan and consult with the professional practice supervisor.
Expertise: The student demonstrates knowledge of nursing practice and nursing theory that can be applied in practice through nursing plans and nursing interventions. The list of departments accredited by the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic, with which the Faculty of Health Studies has a contractual relationship, is given in Table B-IV. Professional skills: The student is able to implement nursing care using the nursing process method, is able to work with medical documentation and is a valid member of the health care team. General competencies: The student is able to apply theoretical knowledge and manual skills in natural settings, and is able to communicate with the client and members of the health care team.
