Lecture topics: (2 hours/week) 1. The relationship between philosophy and ethics in nursing. 2. Definition of the concepts of philosophy and ethics, basic philosophical categories. 3. Sources of nursing ethics. 4. Protection of human rights and human dignity. 5. Ethics as a science of morality. Ethics of dying and death. 6. Ethical problems at the beginning of life. Ethical aspects of caring for a sick child. 7. Research ethics in medicine and nursing. Transplant ethics. Reproductive and therapeutic cloning. Seminar topics: (2 hours/week) 1. Contemporary ethical principles. 2. Hippocratic tradition, Jewish-Christian tradition, modern philosophical trends. 3. Convention on human rights and biomedicine. 4. Codes of ethics and prerequisites for their acceptance. Patients' rights and their role in the humanization of medicine. 5. Telling the truth at the hospital bed. Counseling for survivors. 6. Issues of assisted reproduction. 7. The issue of abortion. Childrens' rights. Pregnancy loss.

|
The subject is designed as a theoretical basis for the creation of the value system in nursing. It focuses on the ethical issues of practicing the nursing profession of pediatric nurses, introduces the integration of ethical principles into the Code of Ethics for non-medical health workers, introduces the Charter of Rights of the Hospitalized Child, touches on ethical dilemmas in the actions and behavior of health professionals towards patients. It develops moral and ethical qualities, helps shape the students' correct attitudes towards himself, other people, and society, find and formulate his own ethical starting points and the ability to defend them. Introduces the issue of philosophy and its relationship to science, knowledge, evaluation and action. It clarifies the basic terms related to the holistic concept of man, family and society.
Expertise: Students know basic philosophical and ethical concepts with an emphasis on stimuli that influence and participate in shaping of the professional ethics of pediatric nurses. Professional skills: The student is able to clarify the principles of current ethical codes used in healthcare, which are subsequently concretized in the discussion and independent work of students on selected issues of ethics in healthcare. General qualifications: The student is able to apply theoretical knowledge in natural conditions, is able to communicate with the client and members of the medical team.
