Lecture Topics: The First Consultation: a material composition of living organisms, peptides, proteins, carbohydrates The Second Consultation: lipids, enzymes, nucleic acids The Third Consultation: nutrient metabolic ways, the formation of reduced equivalents, the formation of ATP Seminar Topics: First Consultation: proteins, their importance, the main representatives of carbohydrates and their meaning Second Consultation: the importance of lipids, blood proteins, immunoglobulins Third Consultation: the importance of the interrelationship between different metabolic ways in the body. The seminar project presentation. Self-Study: The main representatives of proteins, structure proteins, the representatives of carbohydrates, fats, waxes, phospholipids, cholesterol, respiratory chain, ATP composition.

Learning outcomes
The student is introduced with the basic issues of biochemistry and hematology. He is informed about the basic composition of the living cells and about the importance of essential nutrients for the human body and their transformation. Afterwards, he is informed about the necessity of the biochemical balance of the internal environment of the organism and its changes in connection with various kinds of diseases and disorders.
Subject Knowledge: Students will understand basic ideas about the chemical composition of a living matter and about the fundamental processes in the organism and the basic principle of certain diseases developing. Professional Skills: The gained theoretical knowdedge can be appropriately used for applying the principles of correct nutrition, for medication applications. Student can use the facts provided to explain the treatment principle the to patients.
