Course content
Lecture topics: 1. Psychological problems of illness. 2. Psychosomatic and somatopsychic relations, autoplastic picture of the disease. 3. Experiencing illness in time, ratio of patient to illness. 4. Psychological problems of hospitalization, iatropatogenia, sororigenia and egrotogenia. 5. Professional deformation, danger of burn-out syndrome. 6. Stress, psychology of pain. 7. Types of disability and psychological approach to clients. 8. Anxiety, fear. 9. Principles of professional behavior. Seminar topics: 1. Productive and unproductive behavior, medic as a client. 2. Psychotherapy in medical work. 3. Illness as a difficult life situation. 4. Communication with sick client. 5. Communication within the client's social network. 6. Non-adaptive nature, unproductive behavior. 7. Productive behavior and its manifestations. 8. Special features of approach to clients in individual departments - internal, surgical. 9. Peculiarities of approach to clients in individual departments - gynecological and neurological.

Learning outcomes
The course is dconcipated as theoretical and practical. It deals with psychology of clients and their families in health and illness. Knowledge of medical psychology will contribute to better understanding of patients and clients of healthy and ill people and to understanding their needs and problems.
Expertise: After completing the course, the student has knowledge that is important for the professional management of difficult situations in the care of individual needs of the sick, disabled and dying, as well as to maintain the mental balance of an independent provider of care and assistance. Professional skills: The graduate is able to adequately saturate the client's needs and solve problems related to the disease. Can approach clients while taking into account the specifics of individual diseases. Credit: student gets credit for at least 80% of active participation in seminar and demonstration orientation in given issue in written form. Exam: oral.
