Course content
Topics: 1. Publishing principles: research, ISBN and ISSN, review process, impact factor. 2. Publishing ethics: copyright law, plagiarism standards. 3. Dealing with e-catalogue of the UJEP library, with MEDVIK database and e-catalogue of Krajská zdravotní, a.s. (Regional Hospital) library. 4. Operation basics: databases Web of Science, SCOPUS, NursingOvid. 5. Introduction to data analysis: Gauss curve, population parameters, statistical hypothesis, the level of significance. 6. Selected samples of statistic tests: Paired t-test (Excel - command TTEST). 7. Selected samples of statistic tests: Two-sample t-test (Excel - command TTEST). 8. Selected samples of statistic: Test types chi-squared (Excel - command CHITEST). 9. Principles of presenting the bachelor thesis. 10. Revision.

Learning outcomes
The course follows the subject "Methods of Scientific Work" including the principles of publishing, and continues with selected possibilities of statistical analysis of collected information. The aim of the subject is mainly to provide students with practical guidance on how to proceed while writing the bachelor's thesis.
Subject Knowledge: Students know the principles of scientific work in all phases, i.e. from planning through implementation, to publishing the results. They also know related citation standards. Subject Skills: Students can perform a search and basic data analysis by using a computer.

The basic assumption is to fulfill the attendance (min. 80% participation in classes). Another assumption is active work (assignment control by means of e-learning environment Moodle).
