Course content
1st consultation: General psychiatry - concepts, definitions, mental health, mental disorders; Organic mental disorders - dementia, delirium; Neurotic disorders - classification, case reports; Affective disorders - diagnostic criteria, case reports. Seminar topics: 2nd consultation: Personality disorders, Addictive disorders, eating disorders, Specifics of mental disorders in children and adolescents. Self-study: Community and Social Psychiatry; Legal Aspects in Psychiatry; Diseases of the schizophrenic circuit.

Learning outcomes
The course is conceived as theoretical. It introduces students to general psychiatry, possibilities of diagnostics and therapy. It introduces legal aspects related to mental disorders. It points out the importance of physiotherapy as part of the treatment of mental disorders.
Expertise: Students can recognize clinical manifestations of mental disorders, respect the specifics of mental disorders in old age and childhood. Can describe basic diagnostic methods in psychiatry, list therapeutic options in psychiatry. Professional skills: Student is able to take into account the legal aspects related to mental disorders and justify the importance of physiotherapy as part of the treatment of mental disorders.
