Lecture topics: 1. General psychiatry - terms, definitions, mental health, mental disorders. 2. Organic mental disorders - dementia, delirium. 3. Neurotic disorders - classification, case reports. 4. Neurotic disorders - classification, case reports. 5. Affective disorders - diagnostic criteria, case reports. 6. Disorders of schizophrenic circuit. Seminar topics: 1. Personality disorders 2. Addictive disorders, eating disorders. 3. Community and social psychiatry. 4. Legal aspects in psychiatry. 5. Specifics of mental disorders in children and adolescents. 6. Excursion - psychiatric hospital.

Learning outcomes
|
The course is concipated as theoretical. It acquaints students with general psychiatry, possibilities of diagnostics and therapy. It introduces the legal aspects related to mental disorders and points out the importance of physiotherapy as part of the treatment of mental disorders.
Expertise: Students are able to recognize clinical manifestations of mental disorders, to respect the specifics of mental disorders in old age and childhood. Can describe basic diagnostic methods in psychiatry, enumerate therapeutic options in psychiatry. Professional skills: Student is able to take into account the legal aspects related to mental disorders and to justify the importance of physiotherapy as part of the treatment of mental disorders. General eligibility: Student is practically able to recognize clinical manifestations of mental disorders, to take into account the legal aspects related to mental disorders in physiotherapeutic intervention.
