Lecture topics: 1. General psychiatry: concepts, definitions, mental health, mental disorders. 2. Organic mental disorders: dementia, deliria. 3. Organic mental disorders - dementia, deliria. 4. Neurotic disorders: classification, casuistry. 5. Neurotic disorders: classification, casuistry. 6. Affective disorders: diagnostic criteria, casuistry. 7. Affective disorders: diagnostic criteria, casuistry. 8. Schizophrenia. 9. Schizophrenia. 10. Revision. Seminar Topics: 1. Personality disorders. 2. Addictive disorders and eating disorders. 3. Addictive disorders and eating disorders. 4. Community and Social Psychiatry 5. Community and Social Psychiatry. 6. Legal aspects in Psychiatry. 7. Legal aspects in Psychiatry. 8. Learning outcomes
The course is conceived as theoretically - practical. It introduces student to general psychiatry, and to diagnostic and therapy options. It familiarizes students with the legal aspects related to mental disorders, highlights the importance of physiotherapy as a part of the treatment of mental disorders.
Subject Knowledge: Students can identify clinical signs of mental disorders, and respects specifics of mental disorders in an old age and in the childhood. Student can describe basic diagnostic methods in psychiatry, and can name therapeutic possibilities in psychiatry. Subject Skills: Student is able to take into account the legal aspects related to mental illnesses and to justify the importance of Physiotherapy as a part of the treatment of mental disorders.
