Course content
Lecture Topics: 1st consultation: Psychological issues of disease; Psychosomatic and Somatopsychic Relationships, Autoplastic Image of Disease; Experiencing the disease in time, the ratio of the patient to the disease and the category of patients from the psychological point of view, iatropatogenie, sororigenie and egrotogenie. 2nd consultation: Professional deformation, danger of burn-out syndrome; Stress; Psychology of pain, anxiety, fear and inferiority; Types of disability and psychological approach to clients. Working with a handicapped individual. Seminar Topics: 3rd consultation: Illness as a demanding life situation; Communication with a sick client; Communication within the client's social network; Productive behavior and its manifestations. Self-study: Principles of professional behavior.

Learning outcomes
The course serves as a clinical discipline and its purpose is to acquaint students in the theoretical field with the psychological problems of the disease, autoplastic image of the disease, the issue of hospitalization, psychology of pain, types of disability and psychological approach to clients, dying in terms of psychology and the issue of professional deformation. In practice, the aim of the course is to develop client access skills.
Expertise: After completing the course, the student has knowledge that is important for the professional mastery of demanding situations in the care of individual needs of the sick, disabled and dying, as well as for maintaining the mental balance of an independent care provider. Professional skills: The graduate is able to adequately saturate the client's needs and solve the problems associated with the disease. He is able to approach clients within the framework of taking into account the specificities of individual disorders and diseases.

Credit: student obtains credit for at least 80% of active participation in the seminar and demonstrates orientation in the given issue in written form. Exam: oral.
