Course content
|
Lecture topics: 1st consultation: Systemic skeletal diseases, birth defects. Inflammation of joints and bones, tumors, avascular necrosis Osteoarthritis, joint replacements. Soft knee injuries and diseases, arthroscopy. Spondylosurgery, faulty posture, scoliosis, Scheurmann's disease. Degenerative diseases of the spine, injuries of the spine. 2nd consultation: Static defects of limbs. Amputation of upper and lower limbs. Prostheses on upper and lower limbs. Seminar topics: 3rd consultation: Prostheses on the upper limbs. Lower limb prostheses. Orthotics, calceotics, adiuvatics. Self-study: Orthotics, calceotics, adiuvatics.

Learning outcomes
|
Comprehensive overview of diagnostics and treatment of diseases and disorders of the locomotive apparatus with emphasis on prevention and in relation to physiotherapy. Comprehensive overview of spondylosurgical problems of degenerative and traumatic. An overview of the basics of prosthetic issues and the use of prosthetic devices in connection with rehabilitation and return of patients to society.
Expertise: Student knows clearly the individual examination methods of the musculoskeletal system. He can investigate and record momentum in individual joints and is able to name basic systemic, hereditary and acquired diseases, their diagnosis and treatment, knows the basic division of bone tumors. He can describe the origin of osteoarthritis, can describe methods of conservative and surgical treatment with emphasis and endoprosthetic. He can characterize individual diseases of the spine, developmental and degenerative and their treatment. Professional skills: Student is able to describe individual types of spinal injuries and urgent resuscitation steps and is able to demonstrate them practically. He is able to list and briefly characterize individual areas of prosthetics and can describe their involvement in rehabilitation and help in returning disabled people to life.

Credit: active participation in the study, internship according to the possibility of orthopedic or traumatological outpatient department, operating room, successful completion of written test - 70%, exam: oral.
