Course content
Lecture Topics: 1. consultation: Systematic skeleton diseases, inborn defects. Inflammations of joints and bones, tumours, avascular necroses. Osteoartrosis, joint prosthetics. Injuries and diseases of the soft knee, arthroscopy. Spondylosurgery, wrong body posture, scoliosis, Scheurmann's disease. Degenerative spine disease, injuries of the spine. Static defects of the limbs. 2. consultation: Amputation of upper and lower limbs. Prostheses on upper and lower limbs. Orthotics. Calceotics. Adiuvatics. Seminar Topics: 1.consultation: Prostheses of upper limbs. Prostheses of lower limbs. 2.consultation: Orthotics, calceotics, adiuvatics. Self-Study: Internship in the operation room, or prosthetic department of the Masaryk Hospital in Ústí nad Labem. Osteoporosis.

Learning outcomes
Complex overview of the diagnostics and treatment of the diseases and disorders appearing in the motoric system with the focus on prevention considering physiotherapy. Complex overview of spondylosurgical issues regarding degenerative and traumatic cases. The overview of basic issues of prosthetics and the application of prostheses in rehabilitation and patients' return to the society.
Subject Knowledge: Student knows the examination methods of the motoric system. He/she can examine and describe movement in joints. He/she can name basic systematic, inherited or gained diseases, their diagnostics and treatment. He/she knows basic classification of bone tumours. He/she can describe the origin of osteoarthritis, methods of conservative and operative treatment with a stress on endoprosthetics. He/she knows various development and degenerative spine diseases and their treatment. Subject Skills: Students can describe the types of spine injuries and the steps of immediate resuscitation and can perform them practically. They can name and briefly characterize the areas of prosthetics and describe their connection to rehabilitation and the help to the impaired within the process of reintegration to the society.

Active participation, possible internship at the orthopaedic or traumatologic emergency, or the operation room, self-study of additional professional literature and study aids, successful passing of the written test with 70% acceptance level, an oral exam.
