Seminar topics: 1. Introduction to social policy, theoretical concepts. 2. Current social policy in the EU. 3. Current social policy in the Czech Republic. 4. Health policy. 5. Social security policy. Problems of persons with disabilities in the social security system. 6. Comprehensive health care of the Czech population. 7. Primary health care in the Czech Republic. 8. Social security legislation. 9. Strategy of social policy in the next period (visions, reforms etc.).

Learning outcomes |
The course introduces students to the basic concepts of Social Policy. It focuses on health and social security policy. The aim of the course is also to understand the basic concepts of social care and prevention. To acquaint students with target groups of social care users, with organizational structure of social services. The discussion form responds to current events in the mentioned areas of social policy in the Czech Republic and the EU.
Expertise: Graduates of the course can enumerate the mechanisms of social policy making, define social security systems, health care and social services. care. Professional skills: They can use their knowledge and design practical solutions to social problems with respect to a particular case. General knowledge: The student is able to apply the acquired knowledge in practice of a non-medical healthcare worker. |
