Learning outcomes
The course is conceived as theoretical, it builds on the knowledge of anatomy and physiology. This knowledge extends the insight into the embryonic development of the tissues of the musculoskeletal system, deals in detail with connective tissue, generally the function of joints, muscles and axial system. It provides information on the ontogenetic development of motor skills, the basics of pain theory and the relationship between the musculoskeletal system and internal organs. Students will learn about processes taking place in the nervous system and controlling voluntary movement and about their subsequent use in diagnostics and therapy. The aim of the course is to obtain a solid theoretical background for the study of other subjects.
Expertise: Student demonstrates general knowledge of skin and connective tissue structure, joint structure, muscle, axial apparatus and their involvement in movement and kinesiology of respiration. He knows the principles of motion and posture control and their ontogenetic development. He has an overview of the types of pain and ways of conduction and understands the link between dysfunction of the internal organs and the musculoskeletal system. Professional skills: Student is able to explain the principle of the barrier, muscle chaining phenomenon, understands the difference between muscle hypertension and shortening and in the way of treatment, knows the role of active scar. They can explain the theoretical basis of dynamic neuromuscular stabilization and can differentiate structure disorder from control process disorder and use knowledge of motor control to determine the lesion location according to clinical manifestations and vice versa. General eligibility: Student is able to use the knowledge in further study of physiotherapy and from the knowledge of the principles of general kinesiology to come out in the diagnosis and selection of the procedure used therapy.
