Lecture Topics: 1. consultation:The basics of microbiology, immunology, epidemiology and hygiene; immunisation. 2. consultation:Nosocomial infections and their prevention, hygienic requirements in medical facilities and their realization: rehabilitation, disinfection and sterilization. Seminar Topics: 2. consultation: Personal hygiene of the medical staff, hands hygiene: practice and effectiveness control. Self-Study: Study of specialized literatures, participation at the specialized seminars.

Learning outcomes
|
The subject provides the students with basic knowledge of microbiology, epidemiology and hygiene, the relationship between physical, chemical and biological factors in the environment and human organism: population and the effects on health. It teaches the principles of disease prevention, protection and support of health. General rules of hygiene and epidemiology which are applied at medical facilities, the requirements for their keeping, hygiene operations and prevention of nosocomial infections.
Subject Knowledge: Student knows basic terminology of the field of microbiology, immunology, epidemiology and hygiene, he/she recognizes the function and parts of the immune system, basics and forms of immunization, he/she knows ethiology epidemiology and prevention of nosocomial infections, hygienic hygienic requirements in medical facilities, especially rehabilitation facilities, principles of disinfection and sterilization, the basics of personal hygiene and hands hygiene of the medical staff. Subject Skills: Student can read and interpret specialized literature in the fields of microbiology, immunology, epidemiology and hospital hygiene applied for physiotherapy and rehabilitation, he/she knows personal habits of nosocomial infections prevention, work procedures of health care from the point of view of nosocomial infections prevention, he/she knows the basics of personal hygiene and procedures of washing hands, he/she can write a seminar project on a selected topic from the field.
