Learning outcomes
The subject summarizes basic principles of physical therapy application and its influence on human organism. procedure of setting individual parameters, their influence on the achievement of therapeutic goals, application of therapy applicators, patient preparation for the procedure. Part of the course is a discussion on the correct interpretation of prescription - a voucher for the application of physical therapy issued by a doctor.
Expertise: Student demonstrates knowledge of the basic principles of the effects of individual physical methods, knows their effect on the human organism and the possibilities of their therapeutic effect depending on the parameters of application, knows how each setting parameter affects the resulting effect in terms of quality and quantity of effect therapeutic goals (ie not according to diagnoses, but principally according to therapeutic goals and functional status), demonstrates knowledge of the procedure and its correct sequence when setting up the device and positioning the applicators of the device, knows exactly all contraindications of the method, knows examples of the most common indications. Furthermore, the student knows the procedures and types of reflex massage. Professional skills: Student can recommend step by step individual parameters of physical therapy settings according to functional indication and therapeutic intent, can correctly apply applicators for individual methods of physical therapy, can prepare the patient for the application of the procedure.
