Course content
Seminar topics: 1st consultation: Introduction to the study, the most common oncological diagnoses in the Czech Republic, the basics of diagnostics and examination methods, painful pattern in cancer patients, parameters for interruption or adjustment of the rehabilitation program. 2nd consultation: Rehabilitation procedures, specific factors affect the rehabilitation, prevention of cancer. Breast cancer - diagnostics, treatment options, physiotherapy in women after breast surgery, breast self-examination. Self-study: Complications of rehabilitation treatment in cancer patients

Learning outcomes
The course is conceivedas theoretical and practical. It enables students to gain knowledge in the field of oncology in relation to physiotherapy. Students are acquainted with etiology, diagnostics, treatment and prevention of the most common oncological diseases. The practical part is focused on breast self-examination on special breast models.
Expertise: Student demonstrates broad knowledge of etiology and incidence of cancer in the Czech Republic, understanding of examination methods and possibilities of using physiotherapy in cancer patients. Demonstrates broad knowledge of breast cancer, its diagnosis, treatment options and preventive measures. Professional skills: Student is able to define basic terms in the field of oncology, describe basic physiotherapeutic procedures in oncological patients, to design a program of physiotherapy in women after breast surgery during hospitalization, convalescence and in the chronic stage.

Credite: active participation in lessons, demonstration of acquired knowledge. Written elaboration of motion program suggestion for selected cancer diagnosis, self-study of recommended literature and study support, control by electronic and individual consultations.
