Course content
Lecture Topics: 1. Ergotherapy: definitions, current concept and position of ergotherapy in the world and in the Czech Republic. 2. Ergotherapy focused on self -sufficiency training, ADL, aids. 3. Ergotherapy focused on upper limbs, hand examinations and hand grip, the use of splints. 4. Ergotherapy in psychiatry and geriatrics. 5. Ergotherapy of cognitive disorders. . 6. Ergotherapeutic approaches to typical clinical diagnosis and for disabilities. 7. Evaluation of the environment and the removal of architectural barriers. 8. Functional ergotherapy, the types of activities and organizations offering ergotherapy workshops. 9. Ergotherapeutic approaches to children. 10. Revision.

Learning outcomes
The course is conceived as theoretically - practical. Students will gain the knowledge about occupational therapist expertise, its position in a rehabilitation team, his investigative and therapeutic methods. They will know the importance of assessment and of self-sufficiency training, utilization and prescription of assistive aids. Students will become familiar with the assessment of the environment and the quality of life of people with disabilities. Students will understand the participation of ergotherapist in rehabilitation, and will understand the types of activities and organizations offering ergotherapy workshops.
Subject Knowledge: Students are familiar with the problems in the field of ergonomics and its inclusion. They understand the position of ergo therapist in health and social services in the context of rehabilitation team, and influence the situations of people with disabilities. Subject Skills: Empathetic attitude and ability to adequately communicate with clients based on their health status and living situation. Physiotherapist's ability to cooperate under working conditions with the clients, aids application, hand rehabilitation.
