|
Seminar Topics: 1. consultation: Compensation tools, selection and application. Architectural barriers and their removal. The areas of ergotherapists' activities, cooperation with physiotherapists, competency overlap. Self-Study: Study of materials from Czech association of ergotherapists, the rules for compensational tools application, environment and rules evaluation for complex rehabilitation of the impaired.

Learning outcomes
|
The subject introduces the students the the issues of ergotherapy. Students will get the knowledge and they will develop the skills required by ergotherapy qualification. They will undersrand ergotherapist's position in the rehabilitation team, examination and therapeutic methods. Students will understand the importance of self-reliance and self-evaluation, the use and prescription of compensational tools. Students will get familiar with the environment and life conditions of the impaired. They will know the types of activities and organisation of work in ergotherapic facilities.
Subject Knowledge: Understanding the position of the ergotherapist in medicine and social services, in the rehabilitation team, the influencing the situation the impaired experience. Subject Skills: The ability of empathetic point of view and adequate communication with the client based on his/her state and life situation. Cooperation between physiotherapists and ergotherapists while working with clients, tools application, hand rehabilitation.
