Course content
Lecture Topics: 1. Work hygiene: goals, work methods, implementation in practice. 2. Physical, chemical and biological factors of working environment, and their impact on health and prevention. 3. Health risk assessment, risky work, preventive medical examinations. 4. Work hygiene in various actions in physiotherapy. 5. Physiology of work; physical, sensory, mental load at work. 6. Ergonomics: goals, methods, ergonomic programs. 7. Loads handling, ergonomic principles for employment adjustments. 8. Occuatiopnal diseases and their prevention. 9. Intervention programs and health promotion at the workplace. 10. Revision.

Learning outcomes
The course is conceived as theoretical. Students will become familiar with the assessment of working conditions, physical, chemical and biological factors of working environment, and their impact on health. Student will also become familiar with the health risks assessment, job classification, the basic physiology of work and ergonomics, with the evaluation of physical and sensory load at work, and with the principles of measures to protect the health of the workers.
Subject Knowledge: Students are familiar with the ways of identifying factors of working environment and their effects on health of workers, with the health risk assessment, job classification, and measures to protect the health of workers. Students master the basic Physiology of work, evaluation of physical, sensory and mental load at work and an impact on the health of workers, principles for employment adjustments and adaptation of the working conditions to physical and psychological characteristics and implications of employees. Students are familiar with the ergonomics focus, principles of correct handling of loads and preventive measures for the protection and prevention of musculoskeletal diseases and ergonomics principles for employment adjustment and adaptation of work conditions to people with altered work eligibility. Subject Skills: Students are able to access the health risks at work, to suggest ergonomic programs and appropriate preventive measures to protect health, especially the various actions of the physiotherapy, and suitable arrangement of work place for people with various impairements.
