Course content
Lecture Topics: 1. consultation: Introduction into biomechanics. Measuring and expressing movement, the basics of kinematic description (tangible point, solid bodies and their constellations, human movement). The basics of dynamic description of movement (the force and the moment of force, the requirements for balance, centroid, the geometry of human body's substances, the levers in human motoric system. 2. consultation: Newton's Laws, movability and moment, kinematic pairs and strings, energetic aspects of movement, friction and resistance of the environment, movement in non-inercial system, gyroscopic forces and their application in medicine). Self-Study: The mechanics of biddable bodies, resilience (Hook's Law). Architecture and mechanical attributes of bones (Wolf's Law, the principle of maximal sturdiness with the lowest amount of material) and muscles, strength and velocity characteristics (Hill's Equation), the structure and mechanic behaviour of gristle. The mechanics of liquids (pressure and pressure force, Pascal's Law, the equation of continuity, Bernoulli's Equation, viscosity), flow characteristics of blood and biomechanics of cardiovascular system and heart muscle (Laplace's and Starling's Laws).

Learning outcomes
The subject introduces the topic of biomechanics, in particular, physical basics of biomechanics, including the understanding of kinematics and dynamics of body and body parts movement. The aspects of mechanical attributes of bodies (consistency, resilience) and the basics of liquid mechanics with the focus on circulation system are taught as well.
Student can explain basic mechanical term and laws taking place during the course of human movement. He/she knows the terminology used in biomechanics. Subject Skills: Student can apply the laws of biomechanics in the course of human movement (especially in physiotherapy) and while using mechanical and other types of equipment and tools.
