Course content
Lecture Topics: 1. consultation: Spa treatment, history and tradition, the position of spa in medical system. Recondition, regeneration, physiotherapy, organisation. Balneology: mechanism of the effects, climatotherapy. Diet programs, diet nutrition as a part of spa program. Psychological aspects of a spa client. Documentation in a spa facility. Introduction into organization of spa care. Application of natural treatment resources (based on the possibilities of the facility). Self-Study: Legislation. Spa care regulation. Indication list.

Learning outcomes
The subject is theoretical. It focuses on providing the knowledge about natural resources application in treatment. It also provides information about indication group of baths and spas. The aim is to shows the students the possibilities of natural resources application in treatment.
Subject Knowledge: Student can describe the application of appropriate medical treatments for specific diseases in the spa. Student can name specialized documentation in a spa facility which is mandatory for physiotherapeutic treatment. Student can name natural treatment resources used in the Czech Republic. Subject Skills: Student can apply psychotherapeutic procedures based on the doctor's prescription in the spa. Student can work with the documentation in the spa which is mandatory for the application of the procedures. Student can apply natural treatment resources. Student understands the therapy results made by referencial laboratories.
