Course content
Lecture Topics: 1. Spa treatment, history and tradition, position of spa resorts in the health system. 2. Recondition, regeneration. 3. Physiotherapy, organization. 4. Balneology: the mechanism of effects of natural medical resources. 5. Climatotherapy. 6. Diet programs, a diet as a part of the spa regime. 7. Psychological aspects of spa clients. 8. Introduction with the documentations of spa facilities. 9. Introduction with the organization of spa care. 10. Application of natural medical resources (according to spa facilities options).

Learning outcomes
The course is conceived as theoretical. The course is aimed to provide the knowledge covering the use of natural medical resources for treatment. It also provides information about indicated groups in spa resorts. The aim is to introduce students to possible application of natural medical resources.
Subject Knowledge: Student can describe the application of appropriate treatment procedures for the diseases in spa resorts. Student can name the professional documentation in spa resorts necessary for the work of physiotherapist. Student can name natural medical resources used in spa resorts in the Czech Republic. Subject Skills: Student is able to apply the physiotherapeutic procedures according to the doctor's prescription at the spa. Student is able to work with the documentation at the spa, necessary for procedures application. Student is able to apply natural medical resources at the spa. Student understands the results of the analysis offered by the reference laboratories.
