Course content
Lecture Topics: 1st consultation: The concept of law, creation and system of laws in the Czech Republic. Health offenses. Legislative measures in social rehabilitation and measures in individual social sectors. Seminar Topics: 1st consultation: Responsibility for Health Care Performance, Labor Code - Basic Provisions. Criminal law and its foundations. Fundamentals of the Offense Act. Basic social legislation. Self-study: Constitution of the Czech Republic, Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms. Harmonization of Czech and EU legal norms and their relation to health care. Act on Family, Social Care for Citizens and Social Security System in the Czech Republic. Social rehabilitation according to Act No. 108/2006 Coll. and Work Rehabilitation according to Act No. 435/2004 Coll. Employment.

Learning outcomes
The subject is a part of basic study subjects. It provides basic information on law and legislation and introduces applicable legislation on the health and social care system, including the rights and obligations of health professions, clients and government authorities. Students will get acquainted with basic legal terminology and will gain orientation in the legal system of the Czech Republic. They will understand the relationship between the legal system of the Czech Republic and the EU and the relation of legislative and executive power in the system of health and social care.
Expertise: Students understand basic legal terminology. Professional skills: Students will gain orientation in the legal system of the Czech Republic. They will understand the relationship between the legal system of the Czech Republic and the EU and the relation of legislative and executive power in the system of health and social care. Competences: The student is able to provide information related to the legislation of the health and social care system within the framework of occupational therapy counseling.
