Course content
Lecture Topics: 1. consultation: The law as a term; the development of law system in the Czech Republic. Offences in the area of health care. Legislative measures in social rehabilitation and measures in certain social departments. 2. consultation: Responsibility for health care activities; The Labour Code: basic regulations. Criminal law and its basics. Basics of the law regulating offences. Basic socio-legal regulations. Self-Study: The Constitution, The Charter of Fundamental Rights and Basic Freedoms. Coordination of legal standards in the Czech Republic and the EU and their relation to health care system. Family law, social care of the citizens and system of social security in the Czech Republic. Social rehabilitation according to the law no. 108/2006 the collection of laws and work rehabilitation according to the law no. 435/2004 the collection of laws about employment.

Learning outcomes
The subject is the part of basic study subjects. The subject informs about the law and the legislation and familiarizes the students with valid legislation related to the system of health care and social care services, rights and responsibilities of health care providers, patients/clients and organs of state administration. Students will get familiar with basic legal terminology and will be aware of legal standards in the Czech Republic. Students will understand the relation of the legal code in the Czech Republic and the EU and the relationship between legislative and executive power in the health and social care system.
Subject Knowledge and Skills: Students understand basic legal terminology and get familiar with the legal code of the Czech Republic. They will understand the relation between legal system in the Czech Republic and the EU and the relation between legislative and executive power in the health care and social care system.
