Course content
Seminar Topics: 1. Publishing principles: research, ISBN and ISSN, review process, impact factor. 2. Publishing ethics: copyright law, plagiarism standards. 3. Dealing with e-catalogue of the UJEP library, with MEDVIK database and e-catalogue of Krajská zdravotní, a.s. (Regional Hospital) library. 4. Operation basics: databases Web of Science, SCOPUS, NursingOvid. 5. Introduction to data analysis: Gauss curve, population parameters, statistical hypothesis, the level of significance. 6. Selected samples of statistic tests: Paired t-test (Excel - command TTEST). 7. Selected samples of statistic tests: Two-sample t-test (Excel - command TTEST). 8. Selected samples of statistic: Test types chi-squared (Excel - command CHITEST). 9. Principles of presenting the bachelor thesis. 10. Revision

Learning outcomes
The subject follows the area of research methods regarding publishing principles and continues with selected application of statistic analysis of gained information. The goal of the subject is to provide students with practical instructions how to proceed when dealing with Bachelor's thesis.
Subject knowledge: After completing the course the students will know the principles of scientific work in all its phases which means from planning through realization to publishing results. They also know related plagiarism standards. Professional Skills: After completing the course the students can carry out research and basic data analysis by means of a computer.

Basic requirement is the attendance (at least 80%). The next requirement is active work (there will be some checking of completing continuously assigned tasks supported by e-learning Moodle environment).
