Lecture Topics: 1. Introduction to special pedagogy (subject, aims, methods, terminology, individual fields of special education, education system, inclusion, counseling - early care, SPC, legislation). 2. Speech therapy (introduction to the subject, classification and etiology of speech defects, possibilities of therapy, specifics of upbringing and education of individuals with impaired communication ability). 3. Surdopaedia (introduction to the subject, classification and etiology of hearing defects, specifics of upbringing and education of hearing impaired individuals). 4. Typhlopedics (introduction to the subject, classification and etiology of visual defects, specifics of education and education of individuals with visual impairment). 5. Psychopedia (introduction to the subject, classification and etiology of mental disability, specifics of upbringing and education of mentally handicapped individuals). 6. Somatopaedia (introduction to the subject, classification and etiology of physical disabilities and health weaknesses, specifics of upbringing and education of individuals with physical disabilities). 7. Ethopedics (introduction to the subject, classification and etiology of behavioral disorders, specifics of upbringing and education of behavioral disorders). 8. Partial deficiencies (introduction to the subject, classification and etiology of learning disorders and ADHD, ADD, specifics of upbringing and education of individuals by non-standard deficiencies). 9. Combined defects (introduction to the subject, classification and etiology of combined disability, specifics of upbringing and education of individuals with multiple disabilities). Seminar Topics: 1. Diagnostics in special pedagogy (examples of tests). 2. Practical introduction to individual types of speech defects - recordings, videos. 3. Tyflopedics - compensatory aids 4. Surdopaedia - compensatory aids 5. Psychopedia - social learning (demonstration of work with manuals for individual activities). 6. Somatopaedia - hobby activities. 7. Etopedie - addiction. 8. Partial deficiencies - graphomotorics. 9. Combined defects - deafblindness.

Learning outcomes
|
The subject acquaints students with basic knowledge of particular fields of special education. It enables students to fulfill one of the basic prerequisites for their future profession - caring for the mentally and mentally disabled. It teaches the development of communication and cognitive processes.
Expertise: Within the theoretical knowledge, the student demonstrates the ability to characterize individual fields of special education, to use professional terminology related to the issue, to describe basic educational and educational procedures for individual types of disabilities. Professional skills: The student is able to propose modifications of the environment, didactic aids, toys and rules of children's games for given types of disabilities. The student is able to apply theoretical knowledge into practice. Competences: The student is able to understand the valid legislation related to the education of individuals with different types of disability, is able to recommend compensation aids, is able to apply the acquired knowledge and skills to other subjects.
