Learning outcomes
The subject is conceived as a practical one and it follows the lectures from the subject Neurology I, II and Theory of ergotherapy. It introduces the problems of ergotherapy in individuals with impaired cognitive functions. Emphasis is placed on mastering a quality examination of these individuals and determining subsequent occupational therapy intervention.
Expertise: The student knows and actively uses professional terminology related to the issue. Furthermore, is familiar with tests that are used for cognitive function examination and can perform individual therapy steps. Professional skills: The student is able to investigate individuals with cognitive impairment, is able to actively use and evaluate tests, can determine individual steps of therapy. Competences: The student is able to practically use different types of tests (standardized and non-standardized - eg MMSE, ACE-R, Barthel Index, FIM, STROOP test etc.), which are specified for individual components of cognitive functions. Based on the results of the tests, he is able to compile a plan of ergotherapy with a focus on test results, and is able to make independent and responsible decisions in only partially known contexts based on the framework assignment.
