Course content
Lecture Topics: 1. consultation: System disordes of the skeleton, inborn disorders. Inflammation of joints and bones, tumours, avascular necrosis. Osteoarthritis, joint replacements. Knee injuries and illnesses, arthroscopy. Spondylosurgery, wrong body posture, scoliosis, Scheurmann's disease. Degenerative spine illnesses, spine injuries. Static limb disorders. 2. consultation: Amputation of upper and lower limbs. Prosthesis upper and lower limbs. Orthotics. Calceotics. Adiuvatics. Seminar Topics: 1.consultation: Prosthesis of upper limbs. Prosthesis of lower limbs. 2. consultation: Orthotics. Calceotics. Adiuvatics. Self-Study: Work placement at an operating theatre, work placements at prosthetic department in Ústí nad Labem. Osteoporosis.

Learning outcomes
The complex overview of diagnostics and treatment of deseases and disorders of movement apparatus with the emphasis on prevention and in relation to physiotherapy. The complex overview of spondylosurgical issues both degenerative and also accidental. The overview of basics of prosthetic issues and the application of prosthetic aids following rehabilitation and return of patients to the society.
Subject Knowledge: Students know individual examination methods of movement apparatus. They can examine and record ability to move in individual joints. They can name basic system, hereditary and also received deseases, their diagnostics and treatment. They know basic division of bone tumours and can describe creation of osteoarthritis, can describe methods of conservative and operational treatment with emphasis and endoprosthetics. They can characterize individual spine illnesses (both developmental and degenerative) and their treatment. Professional Skills: They can describe individual types of spine injuries and steps of emergency resuscitation and can practically demonstrate them. Students can name and concisely characterize individual areas of prosthetics and can describe their involvement during rehabilitation and assist a disabled person to return to normal life.

Active class participation, work placement according to the possibilities of orthopaedic or traumatologic surgeries, at operating theatres, self-study of recommended literature and study aids, completion of a written test with 70% passing level, oral exam.
