Course content
Lecture Topics: 1. System skeleton disorders, inborn disorders. 2. Inflammation of joints and bones, tumours, avascular necrosis. 3. Osteoarthritis, joint replacements. 4. Knee injuries and disorders, arthroscopy. 5. Spondylosurgery, wrong body posture, scoliosis, Scheurmann's disease. 6. Degenerative spine illnesses, spine injuries. 7. Static limb disorders. 8. Amputation of upper and lower limbs. 9. Prosthesis upper and lower limbs. 10. Orthotics, calceotics and adjuvatics. Seminar Topics: 1. Prosthesis of upper limbs. 2. Prosthesis of lower limbs. 3. Orthotics, calceotics and adjuvatics. 4. Work placement at traumatologic surgery. 5. Work placement at orthopaedic surgery. 6. Work placement at children's orthopaedic surgery. 7. Learning outcomes
The complex overview of the diagnostics and treatment of illnesses and disorders related to movement apparatus with the emphasis on prevention and in relation to physiotherapy. The complex overview of spondylosurgical issues both degenerative and accidental. The overview of basic prosthetic issues; the application of prosthetic aids; rehabilitation and the return of the patients to the social life.
Subject Knowledge: Students know examination methods for movement apparatus. They can examine and record movement ability of certain joints. They can name basic system, hereditary and also received illnesses, their diagnostics and treatment. They know basic classification of bone tumours and can describe the development of osteoarthritis and they can describe conservative and operational treatment methods with the emphasis and endoprosthetics. They can characterize some spine disorders (both developmental and degenerative) and their treatment. Professional Skills: They can describe some types of spine injuries and the steps of emergency resuscitation;they can practically demonstrate them. They can name and briefly characterize some areas of prosthetics and can describe their involvement during rehabilitation and when assisting a disabled person to return to normal life.

Active class participation, work placement according to the possibility of orthopaedical or traumatological surgery, at operating theatre, a written test with 70% passing level, an oral exam.
