Learning outcomes
The subject provides knowledge about using music therapy as a method of communication and explains the term receptive and active music therapy. It gives information about possibilities of using this therapy in rehabilitation. Students will use these methods in professional occupation, schools for disabled people, in children's homes, seniour's houses and other institutions.
Subject Knowledge: Student can describe types of music therapy and can explain differences in music-drama forms and games. He can choose suitable songs at the voice level corresponding with the age and abilities of the client. Student can describe needs of a music therapist and the conditions necessary for his work. Professional Skills: Student can analyze needs of the client and can choose correct method and type of music therapy activity. He is able to bear in mind the age, individual and other needs the client has and choose correct drama-music form or a music game. Furthermore, he is able to interpret chosen songs and appropriately accompany them by playing an easy musical instrument. He is able to create and realize a music therapy class for the clients of different ages.
