Learning outcomes
The subject provides knowledge about using music therapy as a method of communication and explains the term receptive and active music therapy. It gives information about possibilities of using this therapy in rehabilitation. Students will use these methods in professional occupation, in schools for disabled people, in child homes, in senior houses and other institutions.
Subject Knowledge: Students can describe types of music therapy. Students can explain differences in music-drama forms and games. Students can choose suitable songs at the voice level considering the age and abilities of the client. Professional Skills: Students can analyze the client's needs and can choose correct method and type of music therapy activity. They know the issues of the age, individual and other needs the client may have and choose correct drama-music form or a music game. Furthermore, they are to interpret chosen songs and appropriately accompany them by playing a simple musical instrument.
