Course content
Lecture Topics: 1. consultation: General principles and trends of E-health, the principles and examples of telemedicine application, EHR (EPR) - electronic health (patient) record, it's standards, IS in health care and hospitals (functions, examples), The Institute of Medical Information and Statistics (ÚZIS): the national medical registry, DPS indicators. Seminar Topics: 1. consultation: MS-Office for advanced user: PowerPoint (slide transition, animation), Word (copy formatting, dividing the document into units and different types of page numbers in the units, titles and generation of the table of contents, citing and generation of literature and source overview), Excel (cell formats, automatic completion of a sequence, cell anchoring application, copying with the lock symbol, use of Ctrl+H while substituting, multi-criterial data sorting, sum function, frequency function, selection of text and logical functions, bar, circular, linear, point charts and their editing: the change of scale, the description of the axes). Self-Study: Study materials are available in Moodle and on the website FMS (section Studium / Study materials). Topics: Revision of the basic knowledge of the IT field and introductoin to e-learning: Information and it's units, HW and SW, the rules of working on the internet, the functions and types of e-learning system, the access to the e-learning at the faculty (Moodle) or at other faculties with similar orientation (MEFANET). Working with ÚZIS database: searching and processing DPS indicators.

Learning outcomes
The subject aims at two main goals. The first one is to make sure students after completing the course will be technically able to manage all tasks connected with preparation of bachelor's paper (thesis). The second goal is to make students familiar with possibilities of using information systems (IS) in health care.
Subject knowledge: The students are familiar with modern possibilities of using IS (information technologies in general) in the area of social and health care. They will be able to master basic terms connected with the e-health and telemedicine problematics Professional skills: The students are able to use computer technology at advanced level in commonly accessible computer applications. They are able to gain information from publicly accessible internet systems.

Basic reguirement is attendance (at least 80% attendance of contact classes). Next requirement is is active work (continuous monitoring of assignment using e-learning system Moodle).
