Lecture Topics: 1. Digestive diseases, peptic ulcer, liver diseases, manifestations and testing of hepatic encephalopathy 2. Diseases of the excretory system including urinary incontinence and rehabilitation options 3. Rheumatological diseases with an emphasis on rheumatoid arthritis and Mb. Bechtěrev 4. Rehabilitation and balneotherapy of rheumatic diseases 5. Metabolic bone diseases including KRBS 6. Diabetes mellitus, classification, symptoms, hypoglycemia, movement activity ordination in diabetics 7. Diabetes mellitus chronic complications and their treatment with particular emphasis on diabetic polyneuropathy and diabetic foot, including rehabilitation options 8. Infectious diseases, thyroid diseases and other internal diseases and their importance for locomotive system involvement and physical activity 9. Approach to rehabilitation in oncological diseases

The aim of the course is to provide theoretical basics of the most common internal diseases symptomatology and their impact on physical and cognitive condition, to acquaint students with clinical signs and orientation with examination and medical treatment methods in the most common internal diseases, to provide special knowledge of some acute complications of these diseases and in more detail students acquaint with the possibilities of non-pharmacological treatment. Geriatric specifics including basic geriatric syndromes are also mentioned in the introduction. Clinical units and groups of diseases with significant possibilities of treatment procedures in the field of physiotherapy, ergotherapy, physical therapy and balneology are discussed in more detail. The second part of the course (II.) Is devoted to diseases of the digestive and excretory system, rheumatological diseases, metabolic diseases including diabetes mellitus and other diseases with significance for locomotor system impairment, physical activity and rehabilitation.
Expertise: Student demonstrates knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology of internal organs, knows basic clinical symptoms according to topics of selected internal diseases, or basic differential diagnosis of symptoms. The student knows the procedures and recommendations of their non-pharmacological treatment with particular emphasis on the possibilities and specific procedures of physiotherapy, ergotherapy, physical therapy and balneotherapy. The student knows the importance for locomotive system impairment and physical activity in the topic of selected internal diseases even where there are no specific rehabilitation procedures. Professional skills: The student is able to recommend individual parameters of movement therapy, to set up a training or rehabilitation plan, to use aids and to instruct the patient in the rehabilitation of cardiac patients, in lung diseases, in rheumatic diseases and in diabetics. He / she can recognize physical disruption criteria from the cardiovascular and respiratory clinics point of view and from the onset of hypoglycaemia. Competences: The student is able to measure blood pressure, heart rate and pulse at rest and during exercise, the student can calculate or otherwise determine the individual training frequency for cardiac rehabilitation, can recommend appropriate load and physical activity for the cardiac based on the results of the stress test and other examinations, the student can instruct autogenous drainage and other drainage techniques, can instruct the use of respiratory physiotherapy aids such as flutter or acapella, determine the suitability of footwear for diabetics.
