Course content
Lecture Topics: 1. consultation: Occupational therapy for individuals with mental and combined disability. Combined disorders: the possibility of occupational therapy, compensational aids, socialization. Occupational therapy in internal medicine. 2. consultation: Occupational therapy in psychiatry. Seminar Topics: 2. consultation: Group work: case study analysis, therapy suggestion according to the diagnosis. Self-Study Occupational therapy as advisory service. Teh overview and test application in occupational therapy. Occupational therapy according to the service provider (occupational therapy in hospitals, treatment and rehabilitation centres, child homes, special schools, kindergartens). Targeted activities in occupational therapy.

Learning outcomes
The subject is a basic field subject. It is structured as theoretically-practical and follows the lectures of the theory of occupational therapy and lectures of psychology, pediatrics, psychiatry and internal medicine. The subject deals with the issues of occupational therapy of the individuals with mental and combined disability, occupational therapy in psychiatry and internal medicine. Students will gain the knowledge about how to use occupationl therapy in these areas and know the possible activities deliberately chosen focusing on physical and mental aspects. The fact that is emphasized is the complexity of the treatment, rehabilitation and cooperation with the family or the school. It introduces the issues of occupational therapy for children under hospital conditions, medical centres, child homes and special schools. The emphasis is put on occupational therapy application in advisory services
Subject Knowledge: Students will gain theoretical knowledge that will allow suitable therapeutic procedure application in the area of sensory disorders, pediatrics and psychiatry. Professional Skills: Based on the diagnostics in a given clinical area the student is able to apply suitable therapeutic procedures and methods.
