Course content
Laboratory for study of movement at our Institute of Health Studies obtain four modern instrumentation for study of human movement. These are: - Optoelectronic camera system Qualisys for 3 - D kinematic analysis of the movement. Optical Motion Capture is widely accepted and used daily all over the world. In the medical field, researchers and clinicians use movement data to study and observe human movement performance. By understanding the basics of human motion, doctors and physiotherapists can improve treatment during a rehabilitation process and obtain guidance in selecting suitable training equipment. - The footscan? 2D 2m Gait Scientific system for highly accurate static and dynamic pressure measurements. Footscan system is used for gait, balance or like a footwear adviser. - Two Kistler piezoelectric force plates designed specifically for use in basic research, sports and gait analysis. Plates are used for example for measuring ground reaction forces or balance during gait or other movement activities. Kistler force plates also exploit inverse dynamics to provide a sound basis for calculating forces and moments. - Biomonitor ME6000, which is a portable telemetry and data logger designed to meet the most demanding needs in measurement and monitoring of electromyography (EMG, rather surface EMG) and other physiological signals up to 16 channels simultaneously. The aim of this course is to understand to this instrumentation and to learn bases of measurement and evaluation of acquired data.
