Course content
Classical manual medicine is a manual method also known in Czech Republic as Lewit´s or Prague´s school of manual medicine. This school is based on the approaches of Mr. Mennell and Mr. Cyriax. This course enables you to revise basic anatomy and introduces you new techniques, with a focus on practical application. We will acquire soft tissue techniques (STT) and mobilization techniques of the joints. STT is a type of treatment directed towards muscles and fascia throughout the body. The end goal of all SST is to relax hypertonic muscles and stretch tight fascial structures. Joint mobilization is a type of passive movement of a skeletal joint. It is usually aimed at a 'target' synovial joint with the aim of achieving a therapeutic effect, which should be decreasing pain and/or increasing mobility. Training in these techniques would be an effective aid in both reviewing and adding to your knowledge base. Important: this course doesn´t substitute an official course of Lewit´s method of manual medicine. You don´t obtain any certificate!
