Course content
|
1. Graphics, its origin and basic developmental changes. 2. Transformation of printing technologies - from woodcut to woodcut and linocut: from A. Dürer through T. Bewick, G. Doré, Die Brücke, J. Váchal to G. Baselitz and others. 4. Drawing and printing basis of graphic media: Creative use of graphic techniques and materials in the process of author's printing. 5. Art etudes and experimentation in woodcut, linocut and monotype techniques. 6.-9. Realization of a practical project: graphic sheet in the technique of printing from above. 10. Realization of a practical project: graphic art in public space (alternative medium postcard, sticker, label, leaflet, etc.). 11. Systematic acquaintance with the means of expression of the basic graphic technique of in-depth printing 12. Transformation of printing technologies - from engraving to polymers: from M. Schongauer through J. Callot, V. Hollar, F. Goya, P. Picasso, G. Rouault, V. Boudník to A. Tapies and others. 13. Collectibles and graphic arts. Conservation and care, examples of adjustment.

Learning outcomes
|
The course acquaints students of the specialization Graphic Design with the issues of modern graphics, while developing knowledge of the expressive possibilities and specifics of graphic techniques of printing from height, depth and surface. It acquaints practically and theoretically with the means of expression of basic graphic techniques.
The gained capabilities constitute an encompassment and an aquirement of knowledge and experience in the subject and are aimed at a profile´s fulfilment of the graduate of the given field of study.
