Learning outcomes
Fashion design is currently one of the most influential forms of design. It includes a number of sub-components in a comprehensive form ? material, cut, form, clothing, style. The studio has four basic pillars ? the idea, the consultation, the realisation, the result. The intensive work of each student on his own project, which the students put into the context of design, art, stylish and craftsmanship, is supporting structure and methodology of the teaching. The studio is designed in such a way that the student intensively works on forming his own style in the context of individual design. Design and styling literacy, international context and cooperation are developed within the study. The idea of the studio is not just design a clothing, it is about the overall fashion concept that we are able to reflect the contemporary themes of society. The link to textile design and craftwork of a whole range of materials is the tradition of the studio. The intersection is the interconnection of the textile and clothing parts in one unit in one project. Fashion design is a sophisticated essence and relationship between the idea, society and man.
After completing the Final work in the first semester, the student can choose the right, chronologically organized procedures to solve a task, can explain their decisions about material selection, colour schemes, and technologies. If appropriate, the student is able to involve cooperation with specialized workshops in the solution of their own project. They can document their work in an adequate and understandable manner and are able to defend it both orally and in writing before the committee. The student can choose their own optimal form of presentation and installation with respect to the given environment. They are able to draw up the written defence of their work.
