Learning outcomes
Teaching in the Digital Media Studio focuses especially on work with both static and dynamic digital image, and on searching for possibilities of their mutual interconnection. During the four-year course, students work with photography, video, digital animation, and as a matter of course, they are free to overlap into classical media. In individual semesters, specific topics are addressed. The primary aim of the Studio is to lead students in a way and direction that help them to reflect a given topic meaningfully, using adequate formal means, and clearly express their ideas. The Studio activities are entirely in the area of artistic creation; however, organization of the course makes it possible to give the students opportunity to acquire necessary technological knowledge and experience when fulfilling the given assignments, working with particular programs (Photoshop, Premiere, Flash, etc.). Tuitions also give much attention to debates about current events in contemporary visual art. It is not possible to exactly define themes (syllabus) of teaching per weeks (blocks) of courses, as this is a type of teaching specific for art colleges. This subject has a form of studio teaching, which is very flexible and tries to address individual needs of students, both in the field of theory and of practical realization of the resulting product-artifact. This means that during the entire semester unique current topics (theoretical, technological) are solved according to how the gradual realization of individual projects develops depending on specific assignments. Therefore, the topics being solved cannot be strictly defined in advance, as they gradually crystallize during the semester.
The gained capabilities constitute an encompassment and an aquirement of knowledge and experience in the given field of study, they result from a concrete annotation of the subject and are aimed at a profile´s fulfilment of the graduate of the given field of study.
