Learning outcomes
This course is based on an empirical anchoring and internalization of the regularities of the academic text. The two-semester concept enables group analysis of the general nature of a longer professional text divided into individual chapters and the construction of the written work as a whole. It deals with the typology of diploma theses, taking into account field terminology and methodology, the possibilities of thematic choice based on the focus of the study program, comparing model, already existing, publicly accessible diploma projects, offering possible scenarios of creative grasping of previously offered topics or motivating students to create their own frameworks areas, sub-research projects and very specific own thesis topics further elaborated in communication with thesis supervisors. In this regard, the general methodological and research part of the course is subsequently transformed into a uniquely individual dialogical approach, which is based on the needs of individual students according to their focus on a specific thesis topic. In the course of two semesters, students intensively consult both within the seminar and during consultations with leading pedagogues on the emerging diploma thesis, and from the introductory seminars, when the basic principles for the elaboration of the diploma thesis are determined, they gradually implement their topic up to the final stage, which is presented in within the state final exams. In addition to ongoing consultations, students are recommended professional literature related to the topic of the diploma thesis, and he is also recommended the personalities of theorists, curators or artists who could provide additional stimulating information, study material and information on the topic. In this way, students are encouraged to think critically, develop their formulation skills and feel for the overall understanding of the topic and the logical construction of the text. The general knowledge acquired within the diploma seminar is therefore further elaborated in cooperation with individual supervisors of diploma theses.
