Learning outcomes
The subject focuses on the oldest generation of female artists (age 65+), who were active on the art scene both in the 1960s and after 1989 (in the totalitarian era they moved within the framework of unofficial art), and some of whom are still active creators. A comprehensively formed art history course, bordering on sociology and gender studies and feminist theories of Western and Eastern cultural contexts, conveys multi-layered information about the changes in the identity of the female artist in contemporary Czech, Slovak and Central European society. It will thus contribute to the current discussion about active ageing. The goal is also to introduce the methodology of cultural education into the practice of the Master's program with an emphasis on the inclusion of seniors and to bring the methodology and strategies of oral history closer to each other.
