The course introduces students to the development of contemporary graphic design with references to its historical development during the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century. Emphasis is placed on current design trends in the form of selected case studies. It points to graphic design with overlaps into the free art of conceptual design, to the responsibility of the designer or to tradition with reference to the uniqueness of national identity against the background of globalization. The course aims to open up questions about contemporary graphic design, which surrounds us every day, but also determines our aesthetic priorities. This raises questions about visual pollution.
