Course content
1. Introduction to art management - areas of cultural management, potential of artistic projects, cultural policy. 2. Art management - structures and forms of art mediation, project thinking, life cycle, goals and tasks. 3. Managerial functions and roles - skills and qualifications of a manager, managerial roles, management styles, general principles of managerial work, key areas of management (planning, organizing, leadership, supervision). 4. Historical development of management - American way of management, European way of management, social, procedural, systemic and empirical approaches in management in the 20th century. 5. Planning - mission, vision, goals, plan as a goal, methods of analysis, strategic plan. 6. Translating an idea into reality - planning procedures, time management, organizational process and standards, role of supervision during planning. 7. Function of continuous control and its concept in the management system and a colloquium on the topic of art management. 8. Introduction to legal terminology, the system of law and position of copyright in the system of law. 9. Introduction to copyright - historical development and meaning of copyright, codification, international agreements. 10. Basic terminology of copyright - author, work of authorship, moral and property copyright. 11. Use of a work of authorship - contractual and non-contractual use of a work of authorship, exceptions and limitations. 12. Rights related to copyright, concurrence of copyright protection, industrial rights (trademarks, design), collective management of copyright. 13. Copyright protection - content of copyright and possibilities of protection of an individual's own copyright, colloquium on the topic of copyright.

Learning outcomes
Lectures introduce students into the field of artistic management and its structure, gradually introduce the process of planning, forms of organization, management and the necessary control of individual steps in general managerial work. Students will gain the skill to translate an idea into a format of gradual realization, including the ability of strategic planning. After the introduction to the system of law, students will get acquainted with the basic terms and principles of copyright, they will get an overview of the specifics of copyright protection of cultural and artistic assets.
The gained capabilities constitute an encompassment and an aquirement of knowledge and experience in the given field of study, they result from a concrete annotation of the subject and are aimed at a profile´s fulfilment of the graduate of the given field of study.
