Learning outcomes
The series of lectures and seminars focuses on analytical reading, the analysis of selected texts, and the presentation of key ideas by major authors in the fields of design theory, sociology, and philosophy. The aim of the course is to introduce students to fundamental theoretical foundations and conceptual frameworks that significantly influenced the formation of 20th-century design, as well as the ways in which design is currently perceived and interpreted. Emphasis is placed on the development of critical thinking, which is essential for students? authorial approaches within artistic or design practice, and on the ability to present and defend one?s own views in professional discussion.
The gained capabilities constitute an encompassment and an aquirement of knowledge and experience in the given field of study, they result from a concrete annotation of the subject and are aimed at a profile´s fulfilment of the graduate of the given field of study.
